Bueno, desde que los que me leen aqui no tienen cuneta en DA para comenar algo (o para siquiera molestarse en pasar a leer) les copy pasteo la rantish thing que escribi hace rato.

Acabo de subir un collage de los dibujos de mis libretas de facultad, eso señores son dibujos mios del 2000 al 2005, rianse si quieren, para eso estan algunos.

Las fotos las tome el dia que se fue la luz en muchos lados de la ciudad, yo sin computadora y con la bateria del DS agotada, me puse a hojear mis viejas libretas y como la camara de fotos aun tenia bateria, me puse a tomarle fotos a los dibujos que en su momento no pude scanear pero queria conservar (de aih tambien que se ven medio obscuros algunos)

Ahora, no los puse en un orden particular (me hubiera tardado eones acomodando) pero en total si hay dibujos de mis primeros intentos de dibujos mas serios, como muchos yo comence copiando dibujos de dragon ball y sailor moon, alla por mis 12, luego en prepa comence a tratar de hacer versiones "anime" de amigos y conocidos, para facultad ya tenia mejor idea de lo que estaba haciendo, y como se ve, fui dando brincos en calidad y tecnica de trazo, con varios fallos etc. La cosa es practicar.

Uno de los motivos por los que subi este collage es porque heria una persona importante para mi con ciertos comentarios que hice de sus dibujos, no malentiendan, no fueron comentarios hirientes en si, mas bien cosas que yo veia que se podian mejorar, pero el efecto resulto lo contrario de lo planeado y termino por deprimirse y no querer continuar con el dibujo...

Eso me hizo sentir bastante mal, desde que no era mi intención, pero recorde que no todos tomamos una critica igual y mas que nada que a veces nos pega la realidad y vemos que aun nos falta mucho, yo me he sentido asi, aqui mismo en deviant cuando veo trabajos de ciertas personas, solo me quedo boquiabierto y cuando volteo a ver mis dibujos, solo me gustaria borrarlos de lo tan chafas que estan.... luego veo comentarios de otras personas que les gustan mis dibujos y digo "no soy tan bueno, me falta un buen" y asi me he sentido siempre desde que empece a dibujar, siempre hay en donde mejorar

Pero luego ahi es donde entra la determinacion de uno... puedes sentirte mal de lo "mal" que dibujas hoy en dia y echarte a llorar de que no progresas significativamente y simplemente dar la espalda, o puedes actualmente tragarte eso, aceptar que estas a un nivel que puedes mejorar y seguir dibujando.

Mentiria si dijera que yo siempre he sido optimista a que puedo mejorar mi nivel, he tenido temporadas abismales que no progrso nada, me enfrazco con ciertos vicios de trazo y no logro salir, pero luego lo pienso de otra manera o simplemente retomo, o investigo el trabajo de otros y saco concluciones de como podria mejorar yo. Nunca he tomado clases de dibujo, asi que todo ha sido observacion, practica y tomar consejos que de vez en cuando alguien suficientemente amable me da.

A que va todo esto y por que puse el collage? pues para mostrar que yo la verdad le tengo cariño a todos esos dibujos, cada que termino uno le encuentro defectos por todos lados, pero luego termino queriandolos porque se que son mios, y son un testamento de mi progreso, y estan para que me de cuenta que echandole ganas uno puede llegar de esto a esto

y si pude haecr un brinco asi, espero poder llegar algun dia a dibujar al nivel de la gene que tengo en mis favoritos.

Por eso, cuando escucho (leo) a personas que me importan teniendo crisis de este estilo, no puedo evitar sentir simpatia puesto que yo me he sentido igual, pero mi consejo para esas personas es que no se dejen entristecer por ustedes mismos, al contrario, que sea su conbustible para querer mejorar...

Y dicho todo esto, si alguien en verdad, le gusta mi trabajo y le gustaria que yo le diera uno o dos tips, con criticas constructivas de sus trabajos, no duden en pedirmelo, de nuevo no me quiero poner al nivel de los profesionales de por aca, pero si hay algo que yo este haciendo bien que quieran aprender de mi, estoy completamente a disposicion.

Y para cerrar, pido una disculpa en publico a cierta chica que lastime con mis comentarios, I can be a jerk when giving art critics... sorry... I mean it... y espero que no sea causa para que dejes de dibujar, tienes talento, solo hay que ponerlo en uso.

Been a while since I updated my journal for this, FFXI wise lots of this have happened, I'm starting to enjoy more the game now that I'm slowly reaching endgame and the posibilities of quests, missions and events widen more and more.

Lets start with the screenshot attack

Shadow Lord Fight! reaching the deepest of the stronhold was a pain, we got lost a couple of times but somehow managed to get there

Since I started playing 2 yearas ago, I looked at the sadow lord ith respect, is one of the most memorable bosses in the game, looks so badass and the description on the guides on the strategy to defeat him its insane, we shifts from physical and magical inmunity, and have some nasty Area of Effect damage skills

oh, and he stands p for a second round once you defeat him with a meaner and cooler look (just look at those HP meters on the right down corner, we were haveing a rough time, I ended up dead but still completed the mission)

After some great cutscenes and spoilerrific stuff, you bo gack to your nation and ger recognized as a true adventurer hero

Talking about spoilers: SPOILER ALERT!! The Jeuno archduke is evil!!!! he summons the Warriors of light to pwn the dark lord (yes, the dark lord was good inside!!!) cuz you dindt actually kill him, and all was some kind of plan to revive the Zilarth, an acient civilication yada yada yada

More fights, events and I finally got my Summoner Horn, to almost complete the summoner AF set (still need the shoes)

At last completed the promyvions and reached Tavnazia (the zone that is the center of the beastmen attack in the opening cutscene), I didnt took screens, but heres the opening video.

Then we go some Avatar runs on the LS, the figths unlike the ones at lvl 20, can be fought with 6 members and the avatars are quite strong, there were a couple of casualties, but we nanaged to defeat Titan Prime, Garuda Prime and Ramuh Prime, I still need Leviathan and Ifrit so I can then fight Fenrir for the right of summoning him.

I told you las time about the most recent expansion, the one that takes place in the past, I have been wandering around the new zones opening portals and teleport points, and taking part in some large scale battles agains hordes of beastmen to defend or attack some bases and gain control o the region (I SO want one of those armors for my chocobo)

I got two more jobs unlocked, Bluemage and Scholar

And finally it wound be a FFXI blog update without a Chocobo screenshoot

This one is the "mascot" I got to desing for a friend's store, he sells figures, japanese music, anime and stuff like that, its great that he just opened the store since it was his dream since our faculty days. I edited the background from an image I found randomly on google ( I was looking for some color combination), if I offend the author in any way I'll gladly remove it, just dont sue me

Esta es la "mascota" para la tienda de mi amigo Erik, Fantasy Art, sobre avenida Leones al lado del fruticake, echense la vuelta!!!

Tuve que hacer este dibujo rapido puesto que la convencion esta ala vuelta de la esquina y pues teniamos que tener algo para promocionar la tienda, ya se habia puesto antes en puesto de la conve pero siempre que le pregutnaba "y donde te puedo encontrar" no podia mas que encojerse de hombros, jeh, ahora ya hay tienda y hay que hacer que la gente vaya!!

este dibjuo esta pensado para servir en las tarjetas con la direccion y tambien pretendo imprimirlo en lona para que reconozcan el puesto, que por cierto tendra tambien los poster de Regios mermados (casi todos) de la convencion pasada.

Bueno, respecto al dibujo en si,ellos ya habian decidido por una arquera o algo asi para su logo, pero solo tenian una silueta medio chafona, asi que yo agarre el concepto y lo aumente, mucho fan service, mucho blink blink, que cosa vende mejor que una valkyrie enseñando partes especificas en atardecer? espero no muchas cosas porque se ocupa vender mercancia

(por ceirto que me tarde mucho con este peusto que mi tableta ya esta dando sus ultimas patadas... temo que tal vez no pueda terminar otro dibujo importante del que les he ido mostrado avances T.T [link]

NEW EXPANSION!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wings of the Goddess was realeased a few days ago and I just got my disk today, thanks to Damian that went to McAllen to days ago.

The new expansion takes you to the past to the heart of the Crystal War, I dunno much about the storyline, theres a LOT of it thou the game, but the interestin thing was the two new jobs, Dancer and Scholar

You switch from past to present with this creepy things called "cadaverous Maws"m theres MORE plot relating tho the origin of those

You get sucked the first time and appear in a random location in the past, to back to the present, you need to find opne of those maws in the past, and done this, you can use taht maw freely in the two periods of time, of course, the areas in the past differ in some parts, blocked paths and stuff, and since the war is at its peak , the beastmen and monsteres are quite more powerfull than in present areas.

the first time you use the maw, theres a cutscene of you in some kind of "limbo", a strange place and probably the end dungeon to be released to explore in the expanson life cicle. Its a nice cool creepy place and...

When you turn your back and see the sky, theres ATOMOS!!!, dunno if it will be some kind of final boss or something, but it surely looks cool

then suddenly a humanoid cat like figuere appears in fron ot yoy, and yes, its Caitsith

It kinda look like Midna from the new Zelda, say NO to furries please!

then you get sucked into the past, and appear in some area, depends on the area you arive the cutscene varies, to my char, it was this one, a group of knights from the main city found me unconcious while patrolling in their armored chocobos (I SOOOOO Want my chocobos to be armored, but theres no word yet on how to obtain it)

lots of talking and thats pretty much it in the first long cutschene introducing the new areas ands transporting system. then I went to do the quest to unlock Dancer!

Basically theres a Dancer performing in the main city with two of her pupils, and whe you as her to teach you to dance she refuses (obviously) and she asks for proof on your spirit and sends you to some bar in other city, if you dance there, she will recognize you, obviously too, the quest was not that easy

You then go and try to dance just to get the audicens bored an angry, you fail!! well, then you go back to the Dancer lady and she then ask you for a stone, one of her aprentices tells you that shes asking the imposible, cuz those kind onf stones ceased to exist some years ago....

OF COURSE, now you have time travel to your service, so you need to get to the past an grab some of that stone from a lake in a monster infested area.... FUN!

You reach the lake and take the stone and then a little blonde girl shows and start ranting about her parents that pressure her to dance, but then she realize that she enjoys dance and bla bla bla, she dances gracefuly and thanks you just to be there and lsiten, then her tutor shows and takes her bak to home

Back to present day, you go and talk to the dancer biotch and hand over the stone, bla bla bla, she doest belive at first then she accept and teach you the basics of dancing and pof, dancer unlocked!

Needless to say, she was taht little girl in the past and she mentions in the present taht you look familiar, obviously you coundt be THAT person!!!

overall, I really enjoy the cutscenes of the game, adds a lot of flavor and coolness and rewards your hard efforts.

Una serie de eventos desafortunados

UN fin de semana de eventos poco agradables... te entrada tuve que ir al trabajo el sabado en la mañana para terminar unos pendientes, luego en la tarde la boda de Juange (si, la boda fue de un amigo pero en general no me gustan las bodas, so aburridas, por suerte llevababamos los DS como bien pactamos que los llevariamos luego del XV de frida)

El domingo asistí al velorio y entierro de mi abuelo Luciano Ortiz, no me gustan los velorios, si hay algo que me hace sacar als de cocodrilo son las canciones que cantan las señoras ya mayores en los velorios y entierros, esas canciones religiosas con voz sumamente triste y letras aun mas... me quiebra...

Needless to say, no pude terminar mi parte para el trabajo final ni estudiar para mi examen de hoy... pero bueno, mi genialidad me enteré, se la debo por herencia a mi abuelo, asi que el examen me va a hacer los mandados.

Ah, la fieste de cumpleaños de Damian estuvo bien, fui un rato solamente a saludar, aunque casi no estuvimos con Damian, muchos tios y familiares, ahi si que "no es lo mismo" a cuando nos jutamos apatosear.

Metropolis, FINISHED!!

After about 20 hours of torture with my tablet (the pen just blew up), I finished my theme work for the metropolis gallery, I STILL need another 2 before this weekend, I'll need to find some place to print that opens on saturdays at least.

Anyway, into this piece, I just leveled up in drawins, I still not 100% convinced but is the most I could do atm, I plan on keep improving, but after a long vacation frim drawing...

I need a name for this piece, I found a nice quote for it tho:

Metropolis update

Today I finished the "boring" part of coloring all the solid areas, so I can experiment with color gammas that fits the feeling of the composition, so I added a few shadows and highlights.

This shadding is not definite, is just a guide for me to visualize better the space and lightplay. Now the fun part is give dimension to every single element, then recaliber the color gamma, add textures and details... hope I can finish before nov 15...

Sketchy lineart for the Metropolis exposition gallery on november 21 here in monterrey, cant say much, I must keep working on it, is by far the most technically challenging drawing I've never done, the perspective was a pain in the ass, and I suck drawing "things" (non human stuff)

Is the largest file also, the original resolution is 4200X4800 AT 300 pixels per inch

Hope I can finish the lineart this week so I can start coloring and finish it by nov 4, I need to revamp one of my old crawings cuz I need 3 for the gallery, one will be on of my latest drawings called muse (http://azjazo.deviantart.com/art/Muse-48095810)

Lot of stuff going....

Las tareas y preaparar clases para las materias de la facu no es algo que te lo peudsas sacudir tan rapido

Voy para un nuevo proyecto con .Net en el trabajo pero aparte vamos a tener una capacitacion los sabados

Hay que organizar un nuevo Devmeet para las siguientes fechas y un concurso

Tengo dibujos pendietes en el deviant

Ayer fui a una junta con un grupo de ilustradores bastante pro de monterrey que van a exponer sus trabajos en un bar de San Pedro para finales de noviembre y pues yo voy a exponer con ellos tambien, setoy algo nervioso porque pues.... yo no tengo estudios de arte ni el nivel de talento que la gente pro tiene. Aun asi no me voy a echar para atras y teng oque sacar 3 obras nuevas para exponer ese día, es la primera vez que voy a estar en una galeria fisica y estar al lado de tanta gente pro me inquieta un poco.

Asi que bueno, muchas cosas pendientes estos dias (sin contar que habia retomade el ejercicio), asi que ando bastante cansado, mañana aparte hay reunion de convicencia con la gente de la oficina y pues no quisiera faltar.

Bueno, eslo que ha pasado en resumen, ya no escribo tant aqui por lo mismo, algo ocupado pero bueno, para no solo contar mis pentas ahi les van unos videos random:

Este es un extracto de una conversasion que tuve con Adriana en messenger asi que no lo veran muy estructurado y como suelo escribir al vuelo pues tal vez no haya elegido los mejore sejemplos, pero heck si las rants se pensaran no serian rants.

me da risa en verdad las posisiones feministas y machistas, aunque de estas ultimas ya no ha habido mucho auge ultimamente ,estan siendo opacadas por la supuesta igualdad de sexos

claro queiren los mismos derechos, pero aun quieren que se les abra la puerta, se les haga cumplidos, se les pague la cena, se cuide a los hijos etc, yo l oveo como un problema social, un boom de desbalance

como la anti-discriminacion

o las consideraciones especiales para los incapacitados, o los derechos de los niños

no soy tradicionalista, ciertamente la mujer tiene su espacio derechos etc, la gente de color es gente a finde cuentas, los discapaciotados son todo menos faltos de capacidad y los niños tienen voz, pero ultimamente la sociedad esta dando mucho el brazo a torcer para los privilegios de esas facciones

bueno entocnes esto da por resultado casos bastante impensables hace tiempo, como el niño que usa el chantaje incluso legal para conseguir que le compren lo que quieren

los padres chiflando a sus hijos porque ya no los pueden ver como seres a quiens se les forma y dan ordenes, sino que idealizan mas su figura como personas cuando un niño, a fin decuentas, nesecita disciplina

las mujeres eministas cada vez agarran mas de las patas a las leyes y cualquier filtreo o cortejo en el trabajo lo pueden traducir facilmente a un acoso sexual y demanda

piden los mismos derechos, los mismos sueldos, pero por ser mujeres, piden mas consideraciones, ahi vemos secres colgadas que se van temprano

que llegan tarde

que no pasan recados

basicamente mujeres que piden el mismo trato pero no trabajan igual solo porque siguien siendo mujeres (y no esta mal que un jefe tenga consideracionses para con sus empleados, cualquir empleado hombre o mujer hace uso de los favores para llegar tarde etc)

los discapacitados tienden avalerse de la condesendencia de las personas y su consideracion para trabajar mas lento, llegar tarde igual cosas de ese estilo

en los medios de comunicacion ya no se puede decir "negro" sin que alguna persona afroamericana se sietna ofendida

y claro si un lider de gente de color alza la voz y dice "nos odendieron en tal lugar" toda la gente, a favor de la "no discriminacion" va a voltear a ver mal a ese medio de comunicacion

de ahi que en los videojuegos tambien, ahora siempre tiene que haber un negro

en las peliculas, en todos lados

porque si no sale un negro, la gente dice "y por que no salio un negroo??????"

aunque la pelicula se tratara de un poblado Aleman

asi que en pocas palabras es un desmadre social cuando estos grupos que antes solo se els imponia ahora se les da voz y solo la han usado para quejarse

tampoco voy a ponerme en el otro lado de "las mujeres a la cocina, a los niños con el cinto, los negros en el campo y los discapacitados en sus casas hasta que se mueran" porque es ridiculo

pero todos tenemos derechos y la verdad se me hace un buen gesto que las instalaciones tengan acceso a sillas de ruedas, que haya entretenimiento cultural a los niños y se les abra las puertas al mundo mas rapido, que pueda hablar con gente amarilla, negra morada verde o con motas sin frekearme e incluso admirar a unos cuantos, y me agrada tener a una compañera en el trabajo que sepa tanto o mas que yo en mi area de trabajo

pero la sociedad ha degenerado mucho los derechos de todo eso y a nadie parece importarle

I'm not kidding, this vid almost put a tear on my face, is just great, I would never imagined this game back when I was a child.

Now we just need the confirmation of sonic as a playeable char in SMBB
